National scientific production in geoscience: an analysis using editorial, diffusion and visibility criteria

Abstract

The scientific communication is a process of science, and scientists through the time recognize its importance by the establishment of the communication channels. The objective of this paper is to analyze the editorial, diffusion and visibility criteria of the Brazilian geoscience's scientific production published in national journals. Were analyzed 27 journals using editorial, diffusion and visibility criteria. The journals presented editorial and content quality, but few are indexed in databases. It suggests that national databases be developed to possibility more visibility to the Brazilian scientific production.
