The impact of eletronic journals on academic libraries

Abstract

This paper analyses the changes caused by the rising of electronic journals, and the positive and negative aspects of EJ from the point of view of authors, scientists, publishers, librarians and users. It discuss the impacts of EJ on academic libraries services, such as selection, acquisitions, cataloguing, consortia participation, what demands a transformation on the librarians and users roles.
