Three types of plastic covers were considered, being a new polyethilene sheet compared with two tradicional and well-known PVC sheets. Results showed a complet control of the adults of S. zeamais in all treatments. The difference observed in the control of pest immature stages was not expressive, varying between 99.12 and 99.86%. In conclusion, the new polyethilene sheet can be compared in level of efficiency with common used by PVC sheets.
