BOVINE ENCEPHALITIS BY PASTEURELLA MULTOCIDA

The present study objective report a case of bovine encephalitis caused by Pasteurella multocida. To the clinicai exam, the animal presented salivary and purulent nasal secretion, tremors and aggressiveness. In the third day of evolution the animal was sacrified in extremis. To the necropsy, bilateral purulent rhinitis, pneumonia, encephalic congestion and great purulent secretion in the meninges and the cortical and medullar cerebral area (frontal region) was observed. From the microbiological culture of the liquor, purulent encephalic and nasal secretion material, there was obtained apure isolation of Pasteurella multocida.
