HIGH PERFORMANCE LIQUID CHROMAIOGRAPHIC DETERMINATION OF FENBUTATIN OXIDE

Fenbutatin oxide is a selective organotin miticide. It offers control over a wide variety of mites on Citrus and ornamental plants and on vines. This paper describes a high-performance liquid chromatographic method for determination of fenbutatin oxide. Samples were extracted with dichlomethane and analysed on Lichorsorb Si 60 (5 gm), with a dichloromethane + methanol (350 + 150) + 2 ml acetic acid mobile phase. The active ingredient is detected with an ultra-violet detector at 254 nm.
