Open-access The pratice of scarification performed by female teenagers: a psychoanalytical approach to the questions about feminity

The present paper discusses the practice of scarification performed by three female teenagers. This experience, and its issues, will be articulated to a psychoanalytic background. Thus, two aspects will be guiding: the relationship "mother and daughter" and the matters linked to the feminine sexuality. Furthermore, articulations of the practice of scarification will be made with the psychoanalytic concept of "death drive".
